Viviscal vs. Hairfinity – Which Hair Supplement is Better?

Viviscal vs Hairfinity

Hair loss can be a problem for both men and women for a variety of reasons. For some, this condition may be hereditary while others may be experiencing the problem due to stress, hormonal changes, age, menopause, or poor nutrition. Sometimes even damage due to styling choices can also affect the overall condition of the hair.

Hair supplements contain a vitamin rich compound. These nutrients are the same basic elements needed by the human body to achieve overall good health. It is well known that if the body is in a healthier state, your hair will be able to grow and thrive as well.

Most hair vitamins on the market today share common ingredients like vitamin C, vitamin D, Biotin, etc. But in the same time they also have “proprietary blend” of ingredients only found in that particular brand. Viviscal and Hairfinity are not exceptions. So, let see what the difference is.

How are The Ingredients Comparing?

Viviscal was made as a result of a study carried out in the 1980s on the Inuit people living in the Arctic Region. During this study, it was found that this group of people has very healthy skin and hair. The Scandinavian research team found their diets played a key role in their healthy hair.

By studying their diet, mainly based on protein, researchers were able to isolate important protein molecules from the food sources they consumed. This is how the main ingredient of Viviscal was created. A marine protein complex called AminoMar®

This supplement also contains crucial vitamins for hair growth, like Biotin, Vitamin C, and Niacin.

According to the company, all Viviscal ingredients come from natural, sustainable sources, so you do not have to be concerned about drugs and chemicals in the product.

The main ingredient in Hairfinity is called Capilsana™, a formula that delivers 18 amino acids, silica, MSM and a special blend of hydrolyzed collagen. This special blend formula, only available in Hairfinity, helps your hair to increase collagen and keratin production, the building blocks of hair.

Biotin and Niacin are also a key component. Biotin protects from dry hair and can increase the elasticity, and Niacin promotes blood circulation in the scalp, which can often speed up the growth process of hair.

Some of the other components included are vitamins, such as Vitamin A, C, and D. Hairfinity also claims that all ingredients used are 100% natural.

Studies/Clinical Trials

There have been several studies carried out on the effectiveness of Viviscal. In 2012, study results showed a 125% increase in terminal hair retention versus the placebo group who were not taking the supplement. In a study carried out in 2013, it was found that this supplement helped to reduce hair loss by as much as 18.3% versus the placebo results of 7.4%. Further research is being carried out now for the latest 2015 results, to learn even more about the supplement and its benefits. (resource: Viviscal.com)

In clinical trials, Hairfinity was found to reduce the average shedding of hair. New hair growth went from 1.74 cm in the first part of the study (first 30 days without using Hairfinity)  to 4.45 cm from day 30 to day 90 while taking the supplement. Those participating in the trial rated their hair as being much thicker and stronger after completion of the study. (resource: Hairfinity.com)

What Are The Side Effects of Using This Products?

Since Viviscal is made with all natural ingredients, it generally produces little side effects. While there are a few cases of people who have reported headaches while using the product, it is not a common problem. The major issue, you might face when using this product, could be allergies.Viviscal’s main ingredient is a marine compound. If you are allergic to fish and/or seafood you should avoid this supplement.

When using Hairfinity, most people do not have any side effects at all. Often users notice improvements in their skin and nails as well. However, MSM the primary ingredient in Capilsana complex, should not be used for more than 90 days. In some people, MSM is known to cause nausea, bloating, diarrhea, headache, fatigue, insomnia or itching. In Conclusion

Deciding on either of these hair supplements will depend on your personal needs and the types of results you are seeking.

Both products show results for increased hair growth. However, if you have a certain genetic trait or medical condition, these products may not be as effective.

When comparing the costs of either product with the cost of transplant surgery, it is easy to see these programs are at least worth trying.

There is no prescription necessary for either of this products. But in any case inform your doctor before taking any supplement, medication or if you plan to change your diet.
